The science behind this system
It is a well-established scientific fact that sound and light affect our biology and all living things on the earth. Without light, not much would grow, our moods and circadian rhythms would decline and the earth would not be a sustainable place to live. Also, sound is part of our life from the very second we are conceived-from the internal sounds of our mothers body such as her heart, to the pumping of blood and more. The earth itself has a resonate frequency of around 7.8Hz and beyond. Interestingly, this is also the resonate frequency of the human hearts electromagnetic field when it is in a calm and rested state.
Benefit of using sound and light for meditation
Sound and light has the ability to both soothe and excite and change our brainwave patterns which, when measured with an EEG, can indicate what mental state we are in. In order to experience more joy, health and well being we would ideally be training our mind and body to get into what is known as more coherent states where our nervous system is not fighting itself, but rather, working as one smooth team. This is where the benefits of the Kasina Mind Media Meditation System come into play, as not only can we get experience the soothing pulses embedded in the calming music, but also the synchronised light stimulation to enhance the response from our nervous system. It utilises two of the primal factors to all existence in life: sound and light. It embeds the favourable frequencies to help our mind and body achieve maximum relaxation and enhanced creativity.

What people are saying
I looked around the web for a variety of peoples experience with this product. I do find the price a little on the high side, so I can understand if you are cautious before you purchase this device. I have had firsthand experience with devices like this and know that they work. Once I had a session with a guy who had an EEG machine where he hooked me up to it and looked at my brain waves before a sound and light session, and then after, and there was most definitely a positive difference in that my brain waves were displaying more alpha waves which are associated with a relaxed coherent nervous system after the session. Some experiences other people have reported having while using this device are:
- pleasant tingling all over the body
- deep relaxation
- enhanced lucid dreaming
- ability to remain more in the present moment
- reduced physical pain
- reduced tinnitus
- people seem to really love the vivid light display with geometric shapes.

Would I recommend this product?
I have read a lot about biophysics and the benefits of sound and light over the years, so I can definitely say this product is well worth buying and experiencing. If you are a lazy meditator (meaning you don’t really want to invest time in learning techniques and would rather be taken on a journey), this device is definitely for you. However, if you are an experienced meditator and want something to add to all your meditation techniques, I would also recommend this device.
Are there any other devices from this company that are less expensive?
Yes there are. You can also check out other products which range from $169-$299. Click here to learn more.

The Kasina Mind Media System Really brings new perspective of meditation. I have never heard of doing meditation using sound and light. This is totally new for me. You actually explained it very well about this sound and light meditation. I’m definitely going to buy this and try it out. Thank you for sharing this article.
Glad you enjoyed it Sujandar! Let me know how you get on with it.
Would you recommend this product for beginners that are only able to sit for 5 minutes or less? How often would you use this product for a day or should it only be done once per day I ask because of the visualizations and will it affect your sight afterward, so should you switch to manual meditation practices i.e. closing your eyes.
Hey Jason, the system is designed in that you are meant to close your eyes anyway rather than looking directly at the light. I personally would not use this for more than 30 minutes per day maximum, and I also feel it is important to learn other meditation styles too. You kind of have to be willing to be your own experimenter and be aware of how it is making you feel.
Hi! The benefits of meditation is endless. It cleanses the body and make the soul to be rid of stress, depression, decrease metabolism etc. It is often saddening that lots of people do not understand the power of meditation, if they do, most people wouldn’t be suffering from things like anxiety, high blood pressure etc. Your review on Kasina Mind Media Meditation will truly help people who are starting out in meditation and likewise people that has been in the system.
Thanks for emphasizing on people that should stay away from the system and those who should be careful. Your review is quite an interesting one.
Thanks Gracen! I think more and more people are beginning to understand meditation, so that is a good thing!
Wow this site was meant for me. Somewhere in the cosmos must have lead me here. I recently just adopted sound meditation in my life and the hertz really do matter and I am learning how sounds waves effect me and what levels are for me. I find it hard to sleep when I am stressed and sound meditation helps out a great deal. I have this calm app that’s really good. They even have adult bedtime stories. Thanks so much for sharing
Hi Kira! The calm app is really good. I am the same-sound meditation has had the most impact on me when I am having difficulty sleeping. It is so simple but truly amazing! Glad you liked my site. 🙂
This is very interesting. I have never heard of this before. I was just talking to my friend who is into meditation techniques and he had been encouraging me to try it. Well I did couple times but not very good at it. Hard to concentrate. I’ll share this info with him and see what he thinks. I think this might be the way to go for me as a beginner. Other than those conditions you mentioned, are there any other known negative side effects for using this system?
Not that I am aware of sheilandc. These tools are good for beginners, but I also feel that eventually you want to be able to meditate for 15-20 minutes without any props. But this tool is a good starting point and makes it almost entertaining. But, if you are like me, I like to mix my meditation styles up-sometimes a mantra meditation, sometimes a biofeedback meditation such as with the Muse Headband, sometimes with the casino, other times just with audio, and other times just observing the breath and other times a yogic style meditation. So much choice!
How interesting! I’ve tried meditation in the past and have had difficulty sticking with it although I know it takes patience to learn and become comfortable with it. I’m not sure I’d want to use the Kasina Mind Media System, though, because it seems to me that it might be defeating the purpose of meditation…to teach self-control. But it’s certainly tempting for someone who has trouble focusing. I did enjoy reading about this.
I think with all these kinds of tools for meditation they are best as training wheels or to have a new experience as a meditator. I like that we have all this variety when it comes to meditation.
Being an Indian, I can understand the value of meditation. Our culture is based on this, but very few people understand it’s importance. I totally agree with your views that, meditation must be taught in schools. But unfortunately in our society, real education starts only after school.
The product you’ve mentioned sounds awesome. Will surely try by myself. Thanks for this article.
Cheers
Akshay
Hi Akshay, sometimes I wonder if the education system is a deliberate suppression of our innate ability. I do tend to agree-reals education starts after school. But, at least we learn to read and write, and hopefully think for ourselves too. My daughter is at the beginning of her school journey and I will say I a somewhat anxious about the choice. 🙂
Thank you for sharing ¨The Kasina Mind Media system¨. I own the Procyon AVS from Mindplace and use it in my office. I have always been impressed with the mandelas and changing geometric shapes it produces. It had been a long while since I used it at all. Now I´m reading your article about meditation and mindfulness and my sister bought it for me as a birthday presentI can notice the differences between the two systems. The range of colors available with Kasina is just amazing. Where Procyon does white, black, grey shades of red green and blue and colors like purple, Kasina stimulates a much broader palette of colors. There is electric orange, tangerine, brown, tan, fuschia, peach, sea foam, green etc. I not only watch the patterns, but also let my eyes examine the wide field of view at top, bottom, left and right with SpetraStobe and can definitely see how the patterns separate for the left and right eye.The only complaint I have is I find the glasses a bit uncomfortable on my nose, especially when I use Kasina laying down.
Thanks for commenting Enrique! Always good to hear from a fellow user. Yes I did notice a couple of people thought the glasses were a little uncomfortable on their nose. How do you feel after your sessions? Everyone seems to respond a little differently.
Thanks for this great article. I think societal effect on our body coupled with work load have a huge impact on our body system and one of the ways to cool off would be meditation . I like the idea about the light and sound, I can just imagine the cooling effect in my body without any use of medication, I don’t like medication. I want to know if the device can be used also by the elderly, I mean people from 75 years old. The prize is big but with the huge benefits worth it and I personally need one for myself. I would recommend your site to some friends and family and will get one too from your link .
Thanks
Hi Stella, yes adults of any age can use this so long as there is no sensitivity to sound and light or epilepsy. Thanks for sharing and purchasing through my link. It helps me to keep running this site.
Hi
This is really a great product review with all necessary information about kasina mind media system. I have heard about meditation but the concept is new to me through this kasina program. I know that different training program may charge a huge amount for full meditation training. Now I have little bit concern about it’s price and effectiveness. Is there any option for discounted opportunity or price is fixed always? which time is perfect for using this meditation system? I hope it has no negative impact for our mind and body. I am going to buy one of those soon. Thanks for sharing this helpful product.
There is a cheaper option as I mentioned in the article, which can still have the same impact-the programs are just a little more limited. Also, as mentioned, some people should not use this device-those with light sensitive and those with epilepsy. Other than that, there is no known negative impact.
Hi ,
Many of us are in a messed up situation due to the daily routine of life and different problems . The mental peace is hampered due to this chaotic environment . The monks meditation in the peaceful environment of trees in the forest . As we don’t have an environment like that in cities , the Kasina Mind Media Meditation System is the answer to that . We can meditate in great way through this .
thanks for sharing
Yes I agree it can be a great tool to fast track what the monks have practiced for years. It think the most challenging thing about meditation is committing to it daily though, so the Kasina can help with motivation I feel.
Hi Liz,
Thank you for sharing this great informational post. I was impressed by reading this article. Joy and pain are just life, then life if the mind is bad then the body too bad. So what is the benefit of keeping you down! If the heart gets hurt by doing a hoot hat, then leave it well. The song helps keep people’s mind better. If you want to dance to music then you can dance a little. If you listen to a favorite song, your mind can be good at the moment. I have never heard of doing meditation using sound and light. This is completely new for me. You really explained it very good about this sound and light meditation. I think the price is a little too much, but would be interesting to try. I’ll definitely share it with my family and friends.
Yes I had not heard of mediation with sound and light until I came across this device. It is really interesting!
It’s really an incredible thing! I have been meditating on Quantum Methods so far. Meditation has softened my life. But meditation by Kasina Mind Media System seems to be much easier and more useful to me. Indeed, the proper use of science and technology plays an effective role in advancing human civilization. But $ 359 US for the third world is a big price. Of course, better the price better the item.
Hi Ranao, can you tell me more about Quantum Methods you are referring too? Is that a technique? Yes, I do find the price is high-even for first world…There are some cheaper options though as mentioned in the article, which will still give amazing benefits.
